Disappearing photos, inside iMessage

no new app to open, no account, no new friends to add

Mugula is a camera that lives in Messages. Warp your face, doodle on it, add a caption, then send it to the chat. You decide whether it disappears after one look, one second or one hour.

How it works

  1. Open any conversation in Messages and tap the Apps button next to the text field.
  2. Choose Mugula. The camera opens right there in the chat.
  3. Shoot, add a filter or doodle, set the timer, and send. It lands in the chat you were already in.

Photos are encrypted on your iPhone before they leave it, and face detection runs on the device. Privacy policy.

Questions

Can you send disappearing photos on iPhone?

Not with iMessage on its own: Messages has no timer for photos. Mugula adds one. It runs inside Messages, so you pick a contact or group as usual, take the photo in Mugula, and choose how long it stays visible.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no sign-up, username or friends list. Mugula uses the conversations already in your Messages app.

Does the person I send to need Mugula?

To view on iPhone, yes: they tap the bubble and the App Store opens if they don't have it. Turn on Universal mode before sending and any phone, including Android, can see the photo.

Is Mugula a Snapchat alternative?

For sending silly, disappearing photos to friends, yes. It has no stories, public feed or followers: everything stays in your existing chats.

Is it free?

Yes. Mugula is free on the App Store, with no ads.
